"Childish things" are frequently those things that do not include current events, finances/business, & family life. I however have a different opinion.
What's different between say "Harry Potter" and the latest Michael Crichton novel? Gun play and the age of characters? Would it matter if it was about children soldiers in Africa?
Is there a difference between playing Little League baseball, adult softball, watching MLB on TV, or Fantasy Baseball league?
Playing cops and robbers by children vs "Playing" business executive, especially by those who certainly have no business being an executive? I've worked with far too many amateurs who got paid for "playing employee".
etc. etc.
"Childish Things", in my mind, is almost always the purview of the unimaginative. Everyone needs escapism in a fashion they can comprehend and can enjoy.
