One of my favorite quotes
Cat and I saw this painting in the Oklahoma City Museum of Art. The objects in the painting, including Washington's gesture, are supposed to have symbolic significance.
As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.--George Washington

salut colette.
Someone will have to give me a translation of this.
I wonder what Washington would say if he saw America now.
This was a fine post for July 4th. I'm surprised that so few blogs did anything meaningful for that day.
hi colette.
i dont know how to say this sentence good independece day? (i know now. its joyeux juillet 4)
there was a naitonal geographic show about mr. washington. it said that he was middle eastern in origin. they did some DNA testing.
finally, with mr. bush as president of the united states. its rather difficult for me to think of the states as liberal. maybe not at this moment.
(i apologize about using french. i was just practicing and i thought colette might also appreciate it since shes also studying french?)
