I'm guessing that "gamer" means "gambler" or am I wrong? I do not like money gambling myself. As far as I can see, gambling, lotto and so on are the best ways of getting nothing for something.

In this particular context, Lynn, they are referring to 'gamers' as in RPGs (Role-playing Games)
