We've actually been watching a lot of movies...
Got to see 'The Golden Compass' (and yes, I'd recommend it - it was a great film)
We rented all the 'Bourne' movies - I had not seen them because I am not a big 'action film' kind of girl - I did however like 'The Bourne Identity' - very well done and I want the soundtrack now...
At any rate over the week and weekend we watched 2 other films.
The first one - base on W. Somerset Maugham's novel 'The Painted Veil' - slow start - excellent movie, beautifully filmed - I think all couples should watch this film - good lessons about marriage and love, infidelity and regaining trust in each other.
The second film was one I'd been wanting to see - an award winning foreign film, Pan's Labyrinth - not for the faint of heart - in fact I had to leave the room because I burst into tears at the violence - I've decided my psyche is simply too sensitive - however it IS a good film and if you can tolerate some really graphic scenes I highly recommend the movie - it's magical realism tinged with darkness (as all magical realism should be...)
...maybe it's the movies that have been making me so depressed (just a stab at it here - I really don't think so...) perhaps it's time to rent some Marx Brothers films? Who knows....
