NBC.com> Saturday Night Live> The First Five Years

NBC.com> Saturday Night Live> The First Five Years

A stroll down memory lane.

I can not tell you how many memories this brought back for me - great work.

It's really a shame that regular TV does not take chances like this anymore.

Thanks for making me remember and laugh like that again. There's a timeless quality to this comedy.

I've thought about this too, and I'm not so sure that it's because shows are afraid of taking risks, but rather that EVERY show tries to shock us that we've just grown numb. We'd look at what was shocking in 1975 and go "yeah, whatever, go eat a bug."

Though I sure wish the current SNL was as fresh and funny as those first five years... sigh.
